About this audiobook

Aquaponics is the combination of more traditional food production methods and uses both aquaculture and hydroponics in order to grow food naturally for personal consumption.

Aquaculture is based on raising fish while hydroponics is based on raising vegetables in water. Aquaponics uses both methods to provide the essential elements for each to be successful.

One of the best features of aquaponics is the inherent benefits it contains in providing protein and vegetables for a well-balanced food source - all at the same time.

You will learn the following:

•                  How to set up your aquaponics system

•                  The benefits of aquaculture

•                  Habits to raise fish and grow great vegetables

•                  Getting the most out of your new fishery

•                  Why aquaponics systems can work so well

•                  Ways to master your new aquaponics set up

•                  And much much more!

Aquaponic farming-raising fish and vegetables together commercially-is the most promising innovation for a sustainable, profitable, localized food system. Until now, systems have largely focused on warm-water fish such as tilapia. A lack of reliable information for raising fish and vegetables in the cool climates of north america and europe has been a major stumbling block.

The aquaponic farmer is the game changer.

The author briefly presents what the different approaches are, she states hers and justifies her choice, and then goes in more practical details about the choices she recommends. Many websites have this information, but this book organizes it and allows you to have a critical perspective and a coherent and progressive understanding of what others take for granted or make out to be the only alternative when it is not. Seems to be based in solid science and extensive experience.

This books gives you all the information you need to setup an aquaponics system. I would recommend to all beginners and also to experts to gain excess to few calculations. There are grammatical errors, i agree but being a marine biologist all it mattered to me was the concept and way of explanation with examples. Kudos to the the writer!!! Awesome book!!

I had a Friendly system so i never did my own research much but when I read this book a lot of things made sense that I only thought I understood, plus there was a lot of stuff about worms and remineralization tanks and swirl filters. Great book. I'm not kidding one of best books I ever read. Don't ever build anything expensive w/o professional facility design.
