Over fourteen days at the heart of the Battle of Britain, Spitfire pilots Jack and Alex struggle to survive the savage battles raging in the air over southern England. Several times a day, they fly against overwhelming odds, witnessing the death and disfigurement of friends and enemies, and wrestling with the knowledge that the same could happen to them at any moment. Brief periods on the ground offer little respite, with Biggin Hill subjected to frequent air raids, during which many more friends are killed. Both Jack and Alex find love, but the battle takes its toll.

作者简介

Retired RAF pilot Ron Powell has written the Battle of Britain novels Wings Over Summer and Wings Over Malta, an illustrated history of the Battle of Britain, Hitler's First Bloody Nose, and two volumes of a memoir, Shropshire Blue: A Shropshire Lad in the RAF: Volume 1, Preparation For Flight and Volume 2, On The Buffet.

Narrator Hannibal Hills trained in acting and theater arts at Southampton College, and also received a diploma in television. His vocal style is warm, clear, and sophisticated, with a depth of emotion from connecting with each project he takes on.
