About this audiobook

River Yates always thought his grandmother’s tales about shifters and witches living among them to be just stories. Until his ex, Drew Preston, showed up at his door naked and bloodied and in need of help.

After being attacked by wolves determined to tear apart the fledgling Outcast Pack, Drew did the only thing he could: shift and run. The nearest place he might find refuge is River’s house. But his ex is human, and when River accused him of cheating, he ripped out Drew’s heart.

While River wasn’t wrong about Drew keeping secrets, how could he tell a human what he is?

When a hunter arrives to kill the shifters that have been making trouble, River is forced to confront the truth not only about Drew but also his own family. Once again, he’ll be picking up weapons and facing off against his grandmother, but this time, it isn’t a training exercise.

This is a second chance mm human/ shifter romance. In which it quickly becomes cleae these two are meant for the other. However the underlying/ overarching storyline brings much uncertainty for some in the shifter community. For me this felt like the more prominent storyline in this book. River is shocked to find the tales his grandparents told him turned out to me true. When his former boyfriend turns out to be a shifter, which explains a lot. Drew is glad to be able to be honest with River, however he is shocked when River reveals who his family is. They have to decide on how to proceed and also rekindle their love. This book give these men a hfn. However it also has an open end due to the overarching storyline which brings more uncertanties for the 'pack' and coven. Now I need to now more about this new pack and how things pan out. 📚 4- Narrator Casey McLeod is a joy to listen to and he made it really easy to emerge myself into this series. 🎧 4,5*
