Brought to infamy following the defeat of a guildmember gone rogue that attempted to bring to life a god of destruction, Zekel now finds himself in the middle of civil unrest that threatens to tear his livelihood apart. But in the meantime, the troubles of the world go on, and Zekel tries to make as much money as possible before the institution he serves, is torn apart at the seams.
One week the public mood is threatening to destroy the guild, for the fear of their magical members upsetting their peaceful lives. The next week the public mood is that magic is of such a necessity for quality of life, that even the mention of outlawing magic would be madness and chaos.
Both weeks Zekel took jobs, and both weeks Zekel got paid.

Luke Cowling was born in beautiful country New South Wales, Australia. And now lives in rural Victoria with his wife Rosemarie, four boys, two cats, and their dog. Some of Cowling's inspirations include Mark Lawrence, Brandon Sanderson, Samantha Shannon, and GRR Martin.
