I do not leave reviews often at all. Only for the best or the worst stories and cinemas really. This series is one of the best, in my top 5 of all series I've read. This book features great development of the plots and characters. It highlights long term survival thinking in a way that I (a hunter in rural Oregon) wouldn't have the forethought or smarts to think of. Distilling water over boiling, the point in mingling with other survivors, planning everyingthing before acting, etc. I also love stories that are not afraid to kill characters you would think be in it until the end. That's life though. It doesn't warn you or give you some super natural foreshadowing before hand. Hands down one of the most realistic series I have ever read. Worth your money people. Warning though, It's realistic. Some parts may disturb people in the prolog alone.
