This is the best book I've read/listened to in forever long. It's like Hogwarts, if they only taught justifiable homicide. It's witty, it's twisty/turny, it's often laugh-out-loud funny. As soon as I finished it, I wanted to go back and listen to it or read it again to pick up all of the subtle jokes and foreshadowings that I had missed the first time, of which there were many. 137/5 stars, amazing. Also absolutely the best narrators anyone could ever ask for.

A fantastic read! This book has you laughing at the dark humor all the while keeping you at the edge of your seat. Neil Patrick Harris and Simon Vance were the perfect duo to narrate this story with their vastly different approaches to their roles. Yet they blend seamlessly.

Holmes has received two Edgar Awards from the Mystery Writers of America, and multiple Tony® and Drama Desk Awards for his Broadway mystery musicals, including Curtains and his Tony® award–winning Best Musical The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
