Voice acting fantastic. Writing quality solid. Story a little ridiculous, with exposition-heavy reveals. Romance feels a little bit rushed but natural. Sex scenes explicit but not gratuitous. Would be more like 3.5 stars except that I'm so turned off by the specific kink(s?) represented that I couldn't super get into it (ultra possessive alpha with sexual sub; all consensual; includes choking, coming all over face, rough/forced bj, degrading language, etc). Not my jam.

This is such an amazing story. It has a bit of everything. The world building with all of its connections is intense. The characters are bold and so vibrant they seem to jump off the page. The plot has so many different layers and twists that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I really enjoyed the trip the author took me on. I highly recommend this book.

A romantic suspense with some spicy scenes too. It has a great plot with some mini twists that I really appreciated. This book is well written and kept me engaged from the start to the finish. Cindy and Aiden brought the characters to life and you feel like you’re there experiencing it all. Cindy plays the slightly younger Ava well giving us all the emotions, and Aiden embodies the gruff alpha that is Alex showing us a little accent work too. A great start to a series.

Ana Huang is an author of primarily steamy new adult and contemporary romance. Her stories range from lighthearted to dark, but they all have HEAs with plenty of banter and swoon sprinkled in.
Cindy Kay is a Chinese-Thai-American narrator and educator who grew up in the California Bay Area and lives in the Rockies. Her work has been described as listening to a "cozy best friend." She narrates fiction and nonfiction, and has studied Spanish, Portuguese, Thai, and Japanese.
Aiden Snow is a romance and erotica narrator who has been called "the crown prince of audio romance." His rich baritone has garnered a solid fan base and has allowed him to range from paranormal romance to military romance, from "motorcycle bad boy" to "boardroom dom."
