Books such as Slym, Klou, Betower, the Aksieheld Austin series and the Nova science fiction series have made Fanie Viljoen a well-known name in thousands of Afrikaans homes. Fanie grew up in Welkom in the Free State. His interest in art started at school, and apart from writing for children and teenagers, he is also an acclaimed artist and children’s book illustrator who has participated in numerous exhibitions. He was awarded twice with the Sanlam Prize for Youth Literature, as well as the M.E.R. Prize. His young adult novels Betower and Afkop were both runners-up in LAPA’s competition for teenage literature. He has also won numerous ATKV Children’s Book Awards.
Chris Daffy is a radio prsenter at LM Radio. He has radio in his blood, his father Mike was a presenter on LM Radio in the 50’s, he grew up under mixing desks in Rhodesia and South Africa. Schooled at St Albans College and Rhodes University. A rare mix of Economics, Industrial Psychology, MBA and Radio.
