Weird Tales Magazine used to be nicknamed “The Unusual Magazine,” which is a bit of truth in advertising. And this issue hits that bull’s-eye pretty solidly. There are monster stories (short stories and flash), monster poems, and even an essay about monsters to be found here. But they’re each a little outside of the conventional box. Each writer brought a curious kind of game here, twisting the established models, skewing expectations, and having some very dark fun spinning creepy yarns about monsters of all kinds. So, lock the doors, turn down the lights, and dig in. It’s about to get scary in here.

Jonathan Maberry is a New York Times bestselling author, five-time Bram Stoker Award winner, anthology editor, and comic book writer. He writes for adults and teens. He also writes comics for Marvel, IDW, and Dark Horse. He lives in Del Mar, California, with his wife, Sara Jo, and their dog, Rosie.

Best known for his captivating, rich narrations and uncanny ability for pulling listeners into an immersive experience, Joe has entertained listeners with over 100 audiobooks ranging from horror and mystery to science fiction, romance, and personal development. Jennifer Pickens is an experienced audiobook narrator. A storyteller since childhood, she now uses her smooth tone and confident grasp of character and pacing to bring authors' words to life. He is also an actor who has appeared on both stage and television.
Emily Woo Zeller is an artist, actor, dancer, choreographer, and voice artist who has won Earphones Awards and the prestigious Audie Award for Best Narration in 2018. She began her voice-over career by voicing animation in Asia. AudioFile magazine named her one of the Best Voices of 2013 for her work in Gulp. Other awards include the 2009 Tristen Award for Best Actress as Sally Bowles in Cabaret and the 2006 Roselyn E. Schneider Prize for Creative Achievement.
Neil Hellegers is a narrator, actor, and educator who lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife, son, and orange mutt. His voice work can be heard during various commercials, sundry video games, and in numerous audiobooks. Neil has appeared in films, TV shows, and commercials, and has performed and taught Shakespeare to students of all ages. He has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in theater arts and psychology, and a MFA in acting from Trinity Rep Conservatory.
