About this audiobook

THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING RICHARD & JUDY PICK AND KINDLE CHART-TOPPING SENSATION.
MEET DS AECTOR MCAVOY, AND BEGIN DAVID MARK'S ADDICTIVE CRIME SERIES.

DS Aector McAvoy is a man with a troubled past. His unwavering belief in justice has made him an outsider in the police force he serves, a good man among the lazy and corrupt.

Then on a cold day in December he is the first cop on the scene when a young girl is killed in Hull's historic church - and the only one to see the murderer. A masked man, with tears in his eyes...

When two more seemingly unconnected people die, the police must work quickly. Only McAvoy can see the connection between the victims. A killer is playing God - and McAvoy must find a way to stop the deadly game.

Hooked on Hull? Then check out the second instalment in the DS McAvoy series, Original Skin...

Strange one this. I like the characters a great deal, i like some of the writing a lot, and feel there could be something here longer term, but for me it took too much time establishing the main players in a first novel. Yes back story is important, but I felt a little cheated that the story was almost secondary in my mind. Perhaps the remainder of the series will create more suspense or tension. Not a bad tale overall, for me I felt it ended rather too quickly, yes I had worked it out near the two third marker, but the author almost raced to the end, with what could be an interesting tie in for the next novel. All in all, I still wouldn't not recommend it - if that makes sense, rather Id recommend that its read with at least one further in the series , which I would expect to be a more engaging read.

I think it's good story but a quite slow ... isn't it.. although I love the suspension and thriller but even at this moment I will tell it's really slow ..

It was ok. I like detective stories so it went down ok. The narrator was good but the story was slow at times. Glad I perservered with it.
