What a fantastic thriller! I really enjoyed this one and it is one of those rare mystery/thrillers where I genuinely couldn’t guess most of the plot twists- and there were a lot to go at! When pregnant Saffy and Tom move into a cottage in the countryside that Saffy has inherited, they feel like their lives are about to truly begin. Their bubble bursts rather quickly though, when their builders uncover two skeletons in their garden. Told from multiple points of view -mainly from the three generations of women in Saffy’s family- we gradually peel back the many layers of secrets and deceit from within the walls of number 9 Skelton Place. I listened to this as an audiobook and the performances from the various protagonists were superb. I felt so connected with the characters and immersed within the plot. It did mean that I ignored my family for a solid two days, though! My headphones rarely left my ears as I just could not stop listening. Thank you to Penguin Random House for gifting me with the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
