Short novella sort of introducing the Cascadia Wolves series. This isn’t my favorite of Dane’s work. If I didn’t already like her other series, I’m not sure I would have read more if this was my intro to her. It wasn’t horrible, but brevity leaves the dialogue feeling a little juvenile. The number of sex scenes also makes the plot weak - because there isn’t much talking between Layla and Sid. Also, we don’t know Sid at all. He’s an artist and he’s hot. That’s it, everything else is Layla-centric. Note to past self - Skip this and read it *after* the series. Or not at all.
