About this ebook

Salvaging from historic buildings isn’t supposed to require reporting a murder.

When salvage expert and historian Paisley Sutton crawls into an abandoned store with a house attached, she certainly isn’t expecting to find a body on site. But soon, her discovery sends Paisley on an expedition through history that links this murder to the one that led the previous owners to abandon the building in the first place. And someone doesn’t want her to salvage this story from the wreckage.

Can Paisley preserve herself and her young son while also uncovering the stories that matter most?

I've read many a cozy mystery and while entertaining, none was as interesting as this. Well written with characters that truly felt real. Saw WAS a two year old! No matter what age they may be, best friends DO support one another and giggle together. The mystery itself was handled with reality. So engrossed in the history and how information was discovered, I surprised myself by allowing the story to unravel itself instead of figuring out "who done it" and why. The pieces fell together as a good puzzle and the relationships melded beautifully. I definitely recommend the book to all readers!

Spelling and grammar are good. This is my first one star review of any book. Ever. I debated leaving a review at all, because I understand writing is difficult.

I love how the history helped solve the murder. A series of strong women white and black kept it alive to be retold.
