In the summer of 1887, Tyler Martin, ranch hand, receives a letter from his aunt and uncle who had raised him most of his youth. He decides to make the long journey from Nevada to Utah to visit them. His whole life begins to change as he encounters murders, destruction, greed, and power. The quiet community of Silver Lake is not the image it tries to portray. One thing is certain, he will find out who is responsible for what is happening.

Joe Smiga successfully published his first novel, "Behind The Lies," with Xlibris in the spring of 2009. "Tova" is a true story he feels compelled to tell. He's very proud of his dog and desires to educate pet owners and veterinarians about a dreadful disease. Joe is planning on publishing a second book this year. He's completed a novel which will touch the hearts of those near and dear to the Wild West. In 2011, he will publish a sequel to "Behind The Lies."
