About this eBook

When a murder mystery-themed fashion show is struck by a real murder, there are enough suspects to line the runway

Bridal boutique owner and cozy mystery writer Maddie Bell and her daughter, Jenna, are hard at work planning Hemlock, North Carolina’s, annual 4th of July charity fashion show. When the show’s hometown star, bestselling mystery author Kellen Corsi, turns up dead, the mother-daughter pair find themselves playing detective...again.

Kellen’s death, which has been staged to mimic a murder from the book that launched her career, leaves the whole town reeling. The violence feels shockingly personal—Kellen was a founding member of the local writing group, Hemlock Homicide Heroines, before success swept her away to the big city.

Soon, it becomes clear not everyone was thrilled with Kellen’s success. As suspects multiply faster than designer knockoffs, Maddie and Jenna are determined to figure out who was resentful enough to kill over it.

I enjoyed reading A Crime of Fashion by Nancy Robards Thompson, book two in her The Wedding Bells Mysteries. Bridal boutique owner and cozy mystery writer Maddie Bell and her daughter, Jenna, are in the midst of planning the annual July 4th charity fashion show. Maddie has asked her crime-writing pals to participate and included the hometown’s star; bestselling mystery author Kellen Corsi. When Kellen turns up dead, the mother-daughter team find themselves once again playing detective. Kellen’s death was staged to imitate the murder from the book that began her career. As Maddie soon learns, not everyone was happy with Kellens success and suspects start piling up. Maddie and Jenna are determined to figure out who was resentful enough to kill her. I genuinely enjoyed reading this funny, sweet and intriguing book and had trouble putting this book down. Ms Robards Thompson kept me on my toes guessing who the killer was, until I turned the last page. Her writing had me feeling as if I was there, watching the events unfold. I never suspected the person who was the murderer. Great job stumping me!! I highly recommend A Crime of Fashion to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Fun cozy mystery read which pulled me in from the beginning. Maddie's reunion of her writing group, when a former member comes back to town, doesn't go as planned when Kellen is found dead and bees are buzzing around her. A missing dress, jealous writers, and unanswered questions lead Maddie and her daughter Jenna to do some sleuthing on their own. Finding the missing dress puts them in danger with a message from the killer. Time is running out... and things are pointing to someone close to her... can Maddie and Jenna, or her law enforcement love interest, Jackson, find the killer before the killer finds her? **received an ARC from the publisher**
