Worth the read. I enjoyed Layne. I wanted to really enjoy Ace. He had his moments that's for sure :) I enjoyed that when issues arose they addressed them! They had moments of self doubt (don't we all) but they also evaluated their feelings and where their relationship was. That is called ADULTING. Aces daughter River was awesome! The relationship with River and Ace was beautiful. Love the twists and surprises that were woven within and the HEA . The absolute ending made me laugh. When I read fiction I am reading a book that makes me feel and provides enjoyment. I have no issues with how it would stand against reality. If I did I would read non fiction. If you enjoy a book with feeling, strong women, a man who shows his feelings and admits when his wrong, a smart loveable little girl with some suspense and surprise - read the book! Thank you for the opportunity to receive this free book and share my honest thoughts and opinions, unsolicited.

Layne Elliot’s heart has been broken and her boss insists she take time off from work to mend her broken heart. Ace Sharp doesn’t trust in love but a chance meeting with Layne shakes his world upside down. This book took me longer than I expected to read. The intent for a five star read is there but too much is missing or rather has a choppy, not smooth flow to it. I wanted a romantic suspense story and the author tried to provide that. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any with how the story was written. Events occurred that just let this reader know what was going to happen. So even though I really enjoyed Layne and Ace’s story, they didn’t hold me captive. I felt as conversations were left unfinished and yes at times the author did come back to those left unfinished conversations later in the book, it just didn’t have that easy flow. There were times I really thought part of the book was missing, that I somehow missed a chapter but that was not the case. There were a couple surp

Layne lucked out with her boss and due to this she has the chance to meet Ace and his daughter River and slowly gets to see that her life may have gone of course but that doesn't mean it's the wrong way to happiness. I really liked Ace and Layne, they weren't your usual couple that don't care to listen to the other, they try to resolve things instead of going crazy and thinking the worst. There are plenty of feels in this book for both Ace and Laney for what they went through and do go through but allowing them to see that happiness can be achieved and it comes when you least expected it, but you need to work hard at it especially when unexpected twists and surprises occur. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
