Dr Maryanne Tate Maltby has worked in the field of hearing loss for over 40 years and has lectured in both public and private sectors (Manchester University, Oxford Brookes University, Anglia Ruskin University and as Head of Training for a major commercial hearing aid company). She holds qualifications as an audiological scientist, hearing aid audiologist and teacher of the deaf, and has degrees in Audiology, Education and Psychology. She has written a number of well-received books, including Principles of Hearing Aid Audiometry (2nd ed. 2002), Audiology: an Introduction for Teachers and Other Professionals (2000), Occupational Audiometry: Monitoring and Protecting Hearing at Work (2005), Adult Aural Rehabilitation (2009) and A Dictionary of Hearing (2013).
