About this eBook

He never thought he’d have a real family Christmas…

For the past eight years, Bill Smith has been unable to set down roots. But he never forgot the magical night he spent with an auburn-haired beauty in Last Stand, Texas. When she finally tracked him down, he was more than happy to donate a kidney to AJ, the son he never knew he had. But now that AJ is better, Bill wants more time with him and his mother. He wants a family.

Annie Burleson can’t help but be grateful to this almost-stranger for saving AJ’s life. Still, she’s a little wary. AJ has already been through so much—what if Bill leaves again? And with Christmas in full swing, it’s difficult to discern which emotions are festive and which are forever.

As Annie and Bill’s lives collide, their mutual love for AJ makes this more than a marriage of convenience. But is it enough to give them the family Christmas they all deserve?

A Family for Christmas by Nola Cross is one of those books that brings back memories of life as a single mom and getting to know my child's father better and later marrying him. There are lots of similar but many different things in this book as well. Annie Burleson had to grow up fast and as a single mom she who takes care of her Ranch with her brothers it has not been easy. Bill was a one night stand that turned into more as AJ. We met AJ and "Dr Bill" in a past book when AJ needed a kidney transplant. Annie's family found Bill and the transplant was successful then Bill disappeared again. Now he is back and it seems to stay. He wants to be a part of AJ's life. To doing so has decided a marriage of convenience is in order. One knows how often things start out as one thing but life helps situations move along to something else. This book was touched my heart in so many ways.

A Family for Christmas by Nola Cross. A great getting into the holiday mood storyline. Book two in The Burlesons of Texas series. I recommend reading this series in order so you understand some of the background.

Very touching story about life on a ranch and the people who play a part in that life. Bill comes back into Annie’s life, and she is not happy about it. They have a history and it’s an unpleasant one. Annie is now a responsible mom to a super smart 7 year old. She likes life like it is and can’t possibly think of letting Bill insert himself into it. So as with any time you put humans together conflict will arise. And boy does it come in spades. This story will pull at your heartstrings. And it’s so much more than a Christmas story. It is a story about family. I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher and am voluntarily leaving my review.
