À propos de l'auteur

L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was a famous American author, born in New York, best known for writing "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" and its sequels. "A Kidnapped Santa Claus" (Santa Claus is kidnapped by a race of invisible creatures called the Awgwas. With the help of fairies, he escapes and continues spreading joy.) showcases another side of his talent, weaving a charming Christmas adventure. While not as widely known, the story reflects Baum's love for imagination and the enduring power of good versus evil.

Baum had many jobs throughout his life, including poultry farmer, actor, and theater manager. He even wrote plays and short stories before finding success as a children's author. His experiences in theater and storytelling greatly influenced his writing style. "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" was just the beginning of Baum's Oz series, which includes thirteen sequels. In these books, Baum continued to explore the magical Land of Oz, introducing new characters and expanding the world he created.

Aside from the Oz series, Baum wrote numerous other books, including fantasy novels, short stories, and poetry. He was a prolific writer, often penning multiple books in a single year. Baum's legacy extends far beyond his books. "The Wizard of Oz" has inspired countless adaptations, including stage plays, movies, and television shows. The 1939 film adaptation starring Judy Garland is perhaps the most famous, and beloved by audiences around the world.

His legacy lives on through his timeless stories. His imaginative tales continue to enchant readers and inspire storytellers to this day. From the yellow brick road to the Emerald City, Baum's Oz remains a magical place where dreams come true.
