Another wonderful book in the Clean Slate Ranch series! This one was a little different from the other books. Derrick and Slater met at Clean Slate Ranch, where their story begins, but it doesn't unfold there. I was super excited to read Derrick's book because he was so unlucky with the cowboys he tried with in the past. I really wanted him to find someone to choose him first and love him. And then comes Slater at the most unexpected time. Circumstances happen, and somehow, they end up in a fake relationship arrangement that benefits both men. But as you can guess, it didn't stay that way. Feelings got involved, and they got to really know each other, and their chemistry couldn't be kept in forever. They both have pasts that make them wary of getting too close to people, but when love knocks on your door, you answer it no matter the road it takes to get your happy ending. And that's what these men did. They fell in love with each other and made me fall in love with them in return.
