A Mistletoe Kiss by Jennifer Faye is a contemporary holiday romance for all ages. Ms. Faye has gifted readers with a well-written book and furnished it with lovable characters. Suzanna has been dumped at the alter and then left without a goodbye from the next boyfriend. Jake is Suzanna's new neighbor and has never had a normal Christmas. Suzanna and Jake's story is packed with drama, humor and kisses. I enjoyed reading this book. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Once again Ms Faye gives us a romance that is not only sweet, but also touching, heartfelt and entertaining. Suzanne Simms has been jilted and dumped twice and she has decided this year she is not going to do much celebrating for Christmas, especially since her parents are no longer living in town. She has also decided not to get involved with anyone , at least for a long time. Sergeant Jake Hamilton, her new neighbor, has no interest in falling in love. either. He feels he hasn’t really felt love in his live. They meet when he rescues her cat, and forge a friendship. When Suzanne’s parents decide to return to town, she’s in a bind. She has yet to tell them her last boyfriend left her . Jake comes to her rescue and proposes he become her pretend boyfriend. Somehow, the attraction grows and both deal with it differently as things get complicated. Especially since her family really likes him. Besides the plot that is entertaining and touching, there is more to the story. It’s about trust, overcoming fears, and finding someone who will love you as you are. The author also reminds us that many returning troops suffer from PTSD, as well as the fact that our experiences as a child will affect us as adults. Last but not least, that Christmas is magical, a time for new beginnings and a time to spend with family and friends. I was gifted this copy by Netgalley and Tule Publishing. Living in Marietta has always has it perks of being a small town and everyone being friendly, but it has the downside of being a small town and everyone knowing everything you do. And that is the struggle that Suzanna has been dealing with. Everyone knows about her past relationships and breakups and it is poor Suzanna. Jake had had a rough life and never know what a stable loving family was like. So when when he as Suzanna keep running into one another a friendship formed. But when her mother showed up early for the holidays and started assuming he was her ex Jake jumped in and said he was her new boyfriend. What will happen between Jake and Suzanna? Will things work out? Or will they blow up in their faces.
