About this eBook

Tough, tender-hearted Frankie Devereux doesn't have time to babysit a smooth-talking football player who's supposed to be doing community service at her after-school center for troubled teens.  She's dealing with serious stuff – gang problems, a homeless pregnant girl and scraping together enough money to keep her center open.

But when a dark secret from her past threatens Frankie and the existence of her program, Cal tries to step up and help.  But with his career on the line, which will he choose?  Football?  Or Frankie and her vulnerable kids?

Cal Stewart has to perform community service or go to jail. Frankie Devereaux’s only focus is helping “her kids,” the at-risk teens from her neighborhood, at the after-school center she runs. She doesn’t have time to babysit an over-indulged jock. Both are complete opposites who have one thing in common. They hide behind public personas in order to protect themselves from being vulnerable. This is their love story, but it’s not without its twists and turns and ups and downs. When confronted by a past she has tried to forget, Frankie stands up and fights back for what’s right. Cal has been told all his life that all he has his football. When faced with the possibility that he may have to make other choices for his life, will he have the same courage to make the right ones? I highly recommend this wonderful start to what is going to be another great series. It’s an engaging and captivating tale, full of emotion, drama, and some steamy passion. The characters have a unique charm which is very appealing. The storyline entices you with the anticipation of where Cal and Frankie are headed and what’s to come. It is a definite page turner, and one you shouldn’t miss!!
