Il 4 ottobre 1930 viene ucciso in un agguato il maestro Francesco Sottosanti, in un paesino sloveno annesso all’Italia dopo la Prima guerra. Mentre il regime commemora il martire fascista, i giornali sloveni scrivono che sputava in bocca agli scolari che pronunciassero una parola nella loro lingua. E che si dice che fosse tisico. Le autorità fasciste rispondono sdegnate: era un bravo maestro, quello che maltrattava i bambini era solo un suo omonimo. Due maestri di Piazza Armerina chiamati Sottosanti trasferiti ambedue in un paesino del Goriziano? Gli eredi di quegli attentatori antifascisti sloveni mi chiedono: “Aveva un fratello?” Aveva un fratello. Aveva sei figli, anche. Uno passerà per “sosia di Valpreda” nella strage di Stato. Sembra una storia inventata, no?
