Aglaia a Vadanii is the story of a Moldovan peasant during the Soviet period in a small village of the Republic of Moldova. The novels describes the soviet years of famine, kolkhoz, change of Latin alphabet to Cyrillic one, destruction of churches and the impact of these measures on the rural population, as well as the transition years of independent Republic of Moldova.
