About this eBook

Welcome to Whynot, North Carolina, population 3,872. It has one stoplight, one bar, and the one-and-only Trixie Mancinkus.

Eleven years ago, Trixie graduated Harvard Law, turned down a job offer from one of the most prestigious law firms in Boston, and headed home to Whynot to open her own firm. Not only did she leave behind the big city, but she also left her boyfriend of three years. And just so we’re clear… that would be me.

So what am I doing in Whynot at this very moment? It seems Trixie needs help with a legal case and for some insane reason, she called on me for assistance. I’ve been in town for five minutes, and I’m every bit as out of place as I feel. Trixie is all sweet, southern curves to my tailored suits and high-priced haircuts. It’s a culture clash of north versus south and about the only thing we have in common is our physical attraction to each other.

But I have a new motto since coming to Whynot: When life hands you lemons, all you need is a little sex and sweet tea to make things better.

What a debut book for author Juliette Poe. Ain’t He Precious for me anyway has it ALL!! Small town romance, second chance love, and a spectacular HEA!!! Trixie Mancinkus and Ryland Powers fell in love while attending Harvard Law School, both were top of their class. Both had been slated to work for one of the top law offices in Boston and planning their future. Then, Trixie did the unthinkable, she moved back home to Whynot, North Carolina, leaving Ryland broken hearted. Whynot, North Carolina was the place where Trixie grew up, where her family still lived. The place where she opened her own law offices. The place where she invited Ry to come after graduation, but he refused and stayed in Boston. Now, eleven years later, Trixie needs help with a case, and she thinks of Ry, the man, and the love she never forgot. When Ry arrives in Whynot, and sees Trixie again, the love he had for her starts to resurface. He begins to see why this town means so much to Trixie. While talking to Pap, Trixie’s grandfather, she begins to see the biggest mistake she has ever made and… Stop, no spoilers. Let me say this, you will love what happens here. I absolutely loved this book and watching Ry and Trixie realize how much they still loved each other. I loved the interaction between the characters both primary and secondary. I loved the writing of Ms. Poe. Her writing reminds me of another writer, Sawyer Bennett. There is a reason for this, a very big reason…. They are one in the same. This is Ms. Bennett’s “sweet side” as she describes it. If you like Ms. Bennett’s writing, and sweet romance, as well as HOT, you will love this book! I know I did!! Kudos Ms. Poe/Bennett on another fantastic journey into romance. I was gifted with a copy of this wonderful book for my honest opinion. Thank you for reading my review. ❤

This is a new series by Sawyer Bennett's alter ego, Juliette Poe. This is the first book in her new series Sex and Sweet Tea. Trixie Mancinkus is from North Carolina and is a sweet, southern type of girl from the town of Whynot. Trixie ended up going to Harvard and became a lawyer. While in law school Trixie met Ryland Powers and the two quickly became serious for three years. They made plans to get jobs in Boston and still be together. Just before graduation, Trixie tells Ryland that she can't stay in Boston and that she is moving back to Whynot, NC and she wants him to go with her. Ry is conflicted but ends up staying in Boston and they break up. Fast forward 11 years....Trixie has called Ry out of the blue because she needs help on a case and now that he is a big time lawyer she thinks just having him on the case will help her client. Ry agrees and flies down to Whynot for the first time ever. Let's just say that Boston and Whynot are polar opposites. I just adored how Ry looked at how different life was in the south. It made him realize that maybe he was missing out on something....a life. Of course seeing Trixie again was just icing on the cake. All those old feelings came back quickly. I loved watching these two rekindle what they had. It was so sweet and romantic. I just adored Trixie's family.....they are a hoot...especially Pap! I really enjoyed the path these two had to take to get back together. If you are looking for a sweet fun story...give this one a try! Great start to this new series!

Okay, so this might tell my age, but when I first fell in love with reading romances, it was with Julie Garwood and old- school Nora Robert’s. Books that told great tales of wonderful family relationships, well-rounded characters and stories that made me grin, laugh out loud and feel- oh the sweet, happy feels! You know the type of story I’m talking about- the one that when you are done, you can’t wait to see/learn more of the ENTIRE family – the story that sticks with you long after you are finished. Ain’t He Precious is just that type of story. Yes, it’s sweet and short, but the entire time I read it, I couldn’t stop the silly grin on my face. I really loved reading every minute of it. And I know I’ll be re-reading it over and over again. The story is of two lawyers who were together in law school, but decided to go their separate ways when they realized they wanted different things in their career. Cue to 11 years later and Trixie is asking Ry to come visit her and help her with a case. So Ry drops what he’s doing and comes to WhyNot, North Carolina to help Trixie out. The story includes so much fun with Ry learning about the south, a wonderful meddling Pap Mancinkus, a slightly over protective Dad and well… it’s just so much fun! The best part was it wasn’t over the top kooky or forced like some books are. Juliette Poe (aka Sawyer Bennett) really did an awesome job in making it fun, a little crazy, but realistic. I’m not from the South, but I could just imagine life in WhyNot. For a novella (which I usually avoid), the characters were really developed. I quickly fell for Ry and Trixie and I now have the hugest crush on her Pap Mancinkus! I just know we’ll be hearing more from him in the future stories!! Ain’t He Precious is a wonderful and sweet novella that’s so worth the read. It’s a guarantee pick-me-up and make-me-smile book! Enjoy the read – I sure did! I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this novella. I am voluntarily and freely providing an honest review.
