About this ebook

Jazz in Position is for you if: you play guitar in the first position and want to learn to read up the neck, or, you want to learn the language of jazz, or, you can play jazz already and have only modest reading skills, which you would like to improve. Each position section contains: a reference diagram of the position notes, standard notation of each scale, with complete fingering, scale warmups, jazz phrases, jazz solo based on chord changes similar to a standard tune, and a review of the scales in a single position, and starting with the second position, an exercise using the new scales with the scales of the previous position.
