The Septuagint (the ancient Greek translation of Jewish sacred writings) is of great importance in the history of both Judaism and Christianity. The first translation of the books of the Hebrew Bible (plus additions) into the common language of the ancient Mediterranean world made the Jewish scriptures accessible to many outside Judaism. Not only did the Septuagint become Holy Writ to Greek speaking Jews but it was also the Bible of the early Christian communities: the scripture they cited and the textual foundation of the early Christian movement. Translated from Hebrew (and Aramaic) originals in the two centuries before Jesus, the Septuagint provides important information about the history of the text of the Bible. For centuries, scholars have looked to the Septuagint for information about the nature of the text and of how passages and specific words were understood. For students of the Bible, the New Testament in particular, the study of the Septuagint's influence is a vital part of the history of interpretation. But until now, the Septuagint has not been available to English readers in a modern and accurate translation. The New English Translation of the Septuagint fills this gap.

Very descriptive translational notes, tells you what sources used and why, and lots of textual criticism for or against that rendering, some places where the translators chose a wording over a traditional way I would like explanation for ex Gen 1:1-3 I believe when they translate pnuema hagion as divine wind, maybe it's better maybe not idk. I am somewhat upset because my copy won't load the full book of Daniel I've tried to download it again, uninstall the updates and Google play books app, etc..... the Google book is flawed now, it never loads on flowing pages (does on original) I've made several complaints and they've told me a series of steps to get it to work which have not. I even have a new phone and it still doesn't work.

I want my refund. The book takes very long to upload and just stop working 😔. When finally upload, is one or two pages. So frustrated. I haven't been able to read it. I am requesting a full refund. I didn't pay to read blank pages.

Well done brother. May God bless you and prosper you more and give you more insight and wisdom to serve His blessed person through our Lord Jesus. I've been searching for a long time for a more accurate and precise translation of the Bible as our current version of the Bible is translated from the Hebrew masoretic text and it has many historical, geographical and genealogical errors as well as many phrases that make no sense when read in the Masoretic text. Well done brother keep up the good work.gbu
