About this ebook

A brokenhearted bodyguard must rescue a telepathic beauty in this paranormal romance by the New York Times–bestselling author of Blood Born.

At six-foot-three and two-hundred-fifty pounds, Fane is a natural born guardian. A flawless mix of muscled perfection and steely precision, he has devoted years of his life to protecting a beautiful necromancer. But after she found love in the arms of another, Fane has been a warrior adrift. He swears allegiance only to the Sentinels. And no woman will ever rule his heart again . . .

Not only a powerful psychic, Serra is also that rare telepath who can connect to minds through objects. When the daughter of a high-blood businessman is kidnapped, Serra agrees to help. But when she stumbles onto a conspiracy involving secrets sects and ancient relics, her life is in mortal danger—and Fane is her only hope. Is the warrior willing to risk his body, his soul, and his heart, for Serra? Or will one last betrayal destroy them both?

Fane is a Sentinel that will have to risk his body, soul and heart for Serra a powerful psychic whose help has been solicited to find a missing girl but ends up in far more danger than they anticipated in this thrilling paranormal romance. This fascinating world if filled with intriguing characters and interesting elements and I for one was completely enthralled with Serra and Fane’s story and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this exciting world. This series keeps getting better and better. The more I read, the more I become invested in the characters. So we met both Serra and Fain in Born in Blood, so it wasn't a huge surprise to see them staring in the next installment. What I was surprised about is how much I cared about the supporting cast, including Bas, who is supposed to be a Bad Guy. In this book, we are introduced to assassins and mercenaries that are living outside Valhalla. Bas and Keade being to of the most important. But even adding in their introduction doesn't feel like Ivy is taking away from Fain & Serra's story. Oh and speaking of stories, Wolfe and Lana are starting an interesting dance. One that I am starting to really want to see. Not only did we get an amazing story, with again, strong characters and sense of family, but Ivy has set the stage for even more rich stories set in the Valhalla world.
