I usually don't leave reviews but I had to with this one. I love all of Ms. Abbott's books and series and I have all of them that is available. Especially how each book can be read separately but still cross reference with all the others. She truly knows how to create an alternate reality. You won't be disappointed.

Konstantin has fought and killed and being imprisoned for his country, now he's been sent to America to bring massive changes, but he never envisioned even in his worst nightmares what would happen when he arrived there, now he must try to right the wrongs of all those before him and avenge the woman he just wronged in any way he can. It's Rosie's eighteenth birthday when for the first time in eight years her dad acknowledges her, she wished he'd forget her, leave her to care for her young siblings like she has done for the last eight years, but he has a fate worse than she even dreamed awaiting her. Now not only is she alone, fearing for her sisters, she must guard herself against the man that has situated himself in her life. This was a great story, there were times it jumped forward and I wasn't sure what had happened, but they are incidental in the scheme of things. The story didn't throw away fears, it embraced them and was realistic with the healing process. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

I have read several of Alexis Abbott's Hitman books, and this was one by far was my favorite. I am a lover of Alpha guys who are a bit of bad boys but then they also have a sweet side and that is Konstantin to a T. Not only was he so amazing good/bad butt but the way he is with Rosie I melted. Konstantin is a hitman in jail who does a favor and ends up becoming new Pakhan, of Brighton Beach. At his welcoming party he is offered Rosie (my favorite female character,seriously loved that girl) and must take her or watch her be killed. Rosie is a 18 yr old who lives and takes care of her twin sisters, their Momma died during childbirth.Their POS Dad couldn't handle the death and lost himself in the bottle and gambling. He is neglect of all his daughters and he is also abusive to Rosie.He trades Rosie on her birthday to clear off his debt. Rosie is thrust into Konstantin life. I loved Rosie she is not your run of the mill heroine she is strong and resilient, and a little gothic, and just you will fall in love with her. These two start off at an unavoidable and unfortunate situation and turned it into a fantastic love story.My honest review is based on an advanced reader copy of this book.
