Zumeist wird der Begriff "Guru" mit einer sehr stereotypen Vorstellung verknüpft. Zunächst einmal stellt man sich darunter einen Inder vor und man kann sich kaum einen Europäer als Guru denken. Europäer sind Seminarleiter, Yogalehrer, Experten und anderes mehr, aber keine Gurus. Als Nächstes erwartet man, dass ein Guru vor einer größeren Zuhörerschar sitzt und sein Wissen bekundet, indem er aus heiligen Schriften zitiert.
Dass es auch anders sein kann, will diese Schrift dokumentieren. Auf Basis von Erzählungen und Bildmaterial wird das Leben eines vom Schicksal geplagten Menschen beschrieben, einer Gurini, die erst in ihren letzten zwanzig Lebensjahren in eine friedlichere Zeit gelangt ist und erst dann Frieden, Glück und Entfaltung im Yoga gefunden hat.
