 “Put the bag by the door mum'.” He said going off straight to his room. Again another part of the ritual. The wine bottle, food wrappers and any other evidence got put by the front door for him to take out of the house on his way to the gym in the morning.

“Yes of course dear, don’t forget your sleepers and goodnight.” She called at the now empty doorway, the reminder to hide their tracks made her think of something else too. He hadn’t been to the gym or the baths today. She let it go and put the black bin liner by the door and went off to her own bedroom.

He downed two of his sleeping pills and washed them down with water, he paused a bit but dismissed the thought, it was only a few days that he’d take the pills his proper ones would be here soon enough.

She couldn't sleep, partly because of the heat but mostly her head was swimming just a bit. She'd laid there for ages in the dark trying to rationalize, trying to make sense of it, even denying what she’d felt but finally giving in to the truth. 

She'd become a little turned on by the dancing incident, coupled with the fact that when she'd gone to the bathroom to have a shower she'd heard the unmistakable muffled sounds of Kyle in his room, she’d even paused for a second or two to listen.

She remembered a frank discussion she'd had with him on one of their alone nights telling him that contrary to what his father might say it was quite natural to fantasise and explore his own body.

Only tonight after the boner incident she realised that instead of fantasising about some pin-up or one of the girls from school he might be thinking of her, his step mother. 

All this information was keeping her up. Finally she put the sidelight on and reached down into the back of her underwear drawer and pulled out her magic bullet...
