About this eBook

Imagine for a moment, what it must have been like on the Western Front in World War 1. Now imagine being in those trenches at the age of 16. That was my Grandfather, Stanley Dunkley. He faced the rigours of war at a very young age and faced some of the most brutal battles in the latter years of the War. His story is told through letter, my personal conversation with him and several diaries. This is what we call "faction", a mix of fact and fiction because there were times and places where I simply didn't know exactly what was happening, however my goal of putting you, the reader, on the front line is something I believe comes through loud and clear.
