Sweet low angst story. It is bit often that you read a short story with all the neat and substance of a longer book. This story was absurd lovely. Kieren is the older brother of Theo’s best friend and his boyhood crush. Theo has lived Kieren since Theo was seven and Kieren was twelve. Eighteen years later Kieren comes knocking on Theo’s door and to Theo’s surprise, Kieren declares he also loves Theo!! This should be the beginning of a loving partnership that can move and grow with the support of their family and community. But not in this case. While Theo’s family is very supportive, Kieren is locked in the prison of his closet by his ultra conservative family. Despite this, they desire to make a go of it cultivating a secret relationship. Five years later, Theo and Kieren are at a crossroads. The pain of hiding is too much for them bothering to tolerate and Kieren makes a decision. Will it end it will he chose love and stand up to his family? Pros of story: Meaty story Great storyline Lovable characters Cons: NONE!! I will definitely read more from this author!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
