Asking For It

This is a well written, entertaining lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romance about a gaming café owner and the two men who’ve been hounding her to sell her business. I liked Lyn’s determination to retain and manage her own company despite the hardships she was facing. I also liked how she stood toe-to-toe against the men when push came to shove. I would have preferred that she wasn’t so obsessed over other people’s thoughts about her appearance however, regardless of the reasons for her insecurities. I’ll confess that it took a while to warm up to Kingston given his tendency to make uncalled-for comments at inopportune moments and passing them off as a joke. Despite that flaw, he and Owen were sincere in their feelings toward Lyn and in the end that’s all that really matters. There’s plenty of drama and angst along with several seriously steamy encounters including some ménage and MM action. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The past tense writing with present tense conversations drives me nuts and it was so hard to look past that I gave up reading the book.
