This is the 3rd book in the series. Building on the previous storylines, evan is missing and suspicion on his involvement with drugs is also building. The death of the mechanic and Evan's disappearance is also creating interest, but Seth is adamant that he is not responsible. Pepper is a new Deputy and despite her attraction to Seth, her attitude is cold and distant towards everyone, but he is not deterred by it. She has her own reasons for being in Lucky. Twists and turns, secrets and lies are combing to create a brilliant series, set against the small town problems with a drugs gang in their midst. Love is there but it has to be acknowledged and accepted to be ever present. Enjoyable and hopefully book 4 with continue the search to bring the cartel to order, as well as bringing together and providing a happy ending for another couple. I'm really enjoying this series by Amanda Siegrist, and this installment was no exception. This time the story centers around Seth and the new deputy in town, Pepper. I was engaged from the very beginning, and found the last third of the book very gripping waiting to see what would happen next. I enjoy that while each book in the series could be read as a standalone, they are also interconnected, each book piecing more of the overarching puzzle together. Can’t wait for book 4.
