I don't know about you, but when I hear that a book talks about a 'marriage of convenience', my mind tends to go to historical fiction. After all, that's not something we hear much about these days, is it? When I read the description of An Unlikely Proposal, I was intrigued by the idea by a modern day marriage of convenience story. In this story, we meet best friends Trinity and Omar. Trinity has lost her job and much needed insurance, something that as a diabetic, she couldn't afford to lose. Omar had lost his wife a few years earlier, followed by his mother-in-law (and source of childcare) more recently. While his suggestion that getting married could help them both out seemed a little crazy at first, the more they thought about it the more it didn't seem like such a bad idea. What could be better than a life with your best friend? They soon find out that marriage truly does change everything... In addition to the idea of marriage of convenience stories, I also always appreciate a good friends to romance story too. There's just something about the history that makes you root for the romance all that much more! That was certainly the case in this story. I loved their easy chemistry and seeing it go from just friends to something more. Truly, it was hard not to fall in love with these characters...and Omar's daughters too! It was a quick read and enjoyable too. If you enjoy a good inspirational romance, this is definitely one to check out. **I received a complimentary copy of this book for consideration. All thoughts are my own.
