But for Bridget, I would break every rule in the book.” i wasn't so sure about continuing the series as the first book was such a let down BUT hold my phone, because i'm absolutely blown away by how incredible this book was! i mean, i never in a million years expected it to be this amazing. we're introduced to bridget von ascheberg (ava's friend from the previous book), the princess of eldora. she's next in line for the throne, but she's not interested in marrying for power or politics. rhys larsen, her tough and arrogant bodyguard who sparks fly between them, but they both resist. when bridget's world is turned upside down, she faces the prospect of a loveless marriage and a throne she never wanted. and to make matters worse, she's hiding her feelings for rhys, who's sworn to protect her but also wants to ruin her. their forbidden love could destroy a kingdom and doom them both. oh, what a treat it was to see them together! it's funny how i despised rhys with every fiber of my being, yet now i can't help but adore him. anyways, did i mention the smut *blushes* (not me who could NOT possible stand smut to enjoying it? maybe it's the writing? i don't know 😭 i'm just speechless and on my knees).
