Anatomy of State Capture

Ms Nina Callaghan is a Researcher at the Centre for Sustainability Transitions (CST) at Stellenbosch University. Her MPhil in Sustainable Development at Stellenbosch University focuses on governance dynamics in South Africa’s unfolding energy transition. 

Ms Robyn Foley attained her MPhil in Sustainable Development (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University in 2019. She also holds a BSc Physics (2007) and a BSc Honours in Technology Management (2008) from the University of Pretoria. [Orcid: 0000-0002-4009-1344] 

Prof Mark Swilling is a Distinguished Professor of Sustainable Development in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, Stellenbosch University, and Co-Director of the Centre for Complex Systems in Transition (CST). He is an international expert in sustainable development, with over thirty years’ experience in societal transitions (with special reference to urban systems), initially with a focus on democratisation and governance during the Apartheid era, and more recently within the wider discipline of sustainability studies at a global level.
