Andrew Henry has two younger brothers, who are always together, and two older sisters, who are always together. But Andrew Henry is in the middle--and he's always with himself. Boy goes into woods to build a house. There are dragon flies and he bring his gadgets.I have always loved this story. My grandmother would read it to me at bedtime

I read this book in 2nd grade. I lived on the family farm, lots of acres. Early 1970s. I could relate to him. Middle child. I built 3 tree houses with my grandfather. Life was so much better than today.
About the author
Doris Burn was born in 1923 and spent most of her life in the San Juan islands, Washington. She passed away in March of 2011, right after she signed the contract that allows us to republish Andrew Henry's Meadow.
