It's too intellectual and gets bogged down in "he went here, then he went there." You get a sense of Dylan just running from one place to another. It's flat and uninspiring.

Andrew Lycett received a history degree from Oxford. His previous acclaimed biographies include lives of Ian Fleming and Rudyard Kipling. He lives in London.
