About this ebook

In this #1 national bestseller, a journalist who's been attacked by Antifa writes a deeply researched and reported account of the group's history and tactics. When Andy Ngo was attacked in the streets by Antifa in the summer of 2019, most people assumed it was an isolated incident. But those who'd been following Ngo's reporting in outlets like the New York Post and Quillette knew that the attack was only the latest in a long line of crimes perpetrated by Antifa.

In Unmasked, Andy Ngo tells the story of this violent extremist movement from the very beginning. He includes interviews with former followers of the group, people who've been attacked by them, and incorporates stories from his own life. This book contains a trove of documents obtained by the author, published for the first time ever.

This is an unfortunately timed book. I found it quite hard to square the threat extremists on the left pose to democracy after three months of the extreme right calling a free and fair election rigged, then storming a federal building and murdering a police officer. Those on the right will probably call what I just wrote an extreme distortion of the facts and say that those who stormed the building present only a tiny percentage of the right and that they are, at best, misguided fools. I'd then say, the same applies the other way. Andy's a textbook example of the hyper partisan hack that exists these days. He minimises real, deadly violence such as the attack in Charlottesville but says violence aimed at his side ranks amongst some of the wickedest acts perpetrated against humanity. So as a resource to simply confirm your own views, either pro or anti antifa then it's wonderful. As an actual resource that might seek to critically evaluate the antifascism movement and allow you to learn something new, it's an abysmal failure.

More than likely the usual straw man fallacy nonsense from Ngo, the alt-right shill. Simply put, Antifa are just a loose collection of activists who are ANTIFA-SCIST, if being anti-fascist is bad, then what kind of upside down world do we live?

A friend got an advanced reader copy of this and couldn't stop talking about it, she let me borrow it and I am now reading it and must say she was right it's a very good read. Hopefully this book makes people much more aware of how dangerous this group is.
