I don't know where to start, but let's say it's an edge of your seat story! I was just recently introduced to Ann Gimpel, but I can't get enough. Her stories are action packed with steamy sex & a love story thrown in. We meet Aislinn when she loses her father to a Surge that brings the Dark Gods and Lemurians, aka Old Ones. For 3 years the Old Ones leave her and her mother alone. Then one day they come and take her mother and send her thru the Void since her magic has been muted by her grief for the loss of her husband. They tell Aislinn that it is time she learn her magic and fight for them. Aislinn walls herself off from everything and everyone so that she doesn't get hurt again. Knowing that she has Mage and Seeker skills, she sets off on the orders set for her by the Old Ones. She is told by Metea, her Old One keeper, that she is special and has 4 days to get to Taltos. Along the way, she meets up with Rune, a wolf, who becomes her bondmate. This gives her Hunter skills. Rune is injured within the first day of being with Aislinn and she tries Healer magic for the first time. She heals Rune, thus giving her her 4th magic. Before she can get to Taltos, she meets Fionn and his bondmate, Bella. They team up to get her to Taltos in time. Aislinn and Fionn meet up with one of the Dark Gods, D'Chel, on their way to Taltos and she bargains for their freedom. Knowing that sex with D'Chel could kill her, she summons fire to warm her & burns him when he touches her allowing her to escape. Fionn gives her his full name before she goes to Taltos with Rune so that she can call him in the case of an emergency. The Old Ones lead Aislinn to believe that they can make her an anti-sex charm to help her against the Dark Gods. In doing so, she travels astrally into another cavern where she meets up with a dragon. After escaping the Old Ones and getting back to Fionn, he tells her that he is a Celtic God and she is descended from Irish kings. Trying to save humanity and Earth, Aislinn, Fionn, and their bondmates team up with 3 other Celtic Gods and several of the remaining humans on Earth. This story ends on a cliffhanger. Action packed from the very beginning! This has a great story line. The characters are in depth and well explored. You get to know each character and their personalities throughout the story. This story makes you feel like you know each character and you feel what they feel for the Dark Gods and the Old Ones. It leaves you wanting more
