Welcome to the New World...... Irish born jaguar shifter Niall has been in the US for thousands of years now, he came aboard one of the first ships to sail full of shifters to the new world after the great war between Magical supernaturals. He has adapted to life in this century ad enjoys the single life with a rough and tumble and nothing more, but his beliefs and thoughts are still as in the old world. He still believes that woman should be seen and not heard as the saying goes, until he finds a sassy modern day she wolf that is. Sarai and her uncle have been captured by vampires that have found a way to siphon the magic in shifters and mages and are saved by the charming Niall who soon finds that he has to relinquish his old ways of thinking if he wants and he finds that his jaguar wants, after centuries alone, to be mated to Sarai. Sarai will not sit back and be ordered around by any male, she will be heard, she will be in the war that awaits them by her mates side.

What a great start to a new series by Ann GImpel! This is a novella so its a short compact read. I loved Niall, he is a paramedic (shifter, jaguar) and he uses his magic in helping. Niall stumbles across shifters (Sarai and her uncle) who are being held by Vampires. That shouldn't be happening, they are shifters, how did the Vamps get the capacity to capture them and use their magic. There is mystery, intrigue, romance. There is a whole lot more, but this one makes it hard (for me) to review without leaving spoilers. I am so looking forward to this series. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was the lucky recipient of this arc and was not asked, or expected to leave a review.

Another great series begins. In this first book of the authors newest series, we meet Naill, a jaguar shifter, working as an EMT. We also meet our heroine, Sarai, a wolf shifter mage living with her family on a secluded ranch away from humans. During an emergency call for a multiple car accident, Naill scents a unusual melding of shifters and vampires, something that is highly unusual as these groups do not gather together. Along with their smell is a scent of evil magic - what the heck is going on? If you love reading excitement, mysteries, the paranormal and some hot romance, this book is definitely for you. Learn what Naill discovers and how Sarai is involved and what together they must do to save everyone from the Vampires.
