Daring Desires Complete Collection (Books 1 - 5) consists of Daring the Neighbor, Daring his Passion, Daring Rescue, Daring her Captor, and Daring the Judge. These stories are well written and all have the underlying theme of good women who end up attracted to "bad boys". I would have given 5 stars but two of the books have adultery and I am not a fan of cheaters. I really enjoyed the other books. I read and reviewed a copy of this book with no obligation.

Daring her Captor This is perhaps the most unconventional ‘meet cute’ I’ve ever read. By the same token, can it even be considered a ‘meet cute’ when it happens because the hero kidnaps the heroine? I’m going to go with “yes” since this fun little story is also a Beauty and the Beast retelling, which kind of requires a bit of captivity. Wyatt is the perfectly charming protective alpha. Belle’s feisty and stubborn and pushes the poor man to his limits. Her family are a special kind of crazy. Daring the Judge I love that the heroine is the judge in the title; it defies our usual expectations. I loved the zany antics of the kitten. I even loved most of the best friend’s questionable choices. I also enjoyed the naughty taboo nature of the illegal sex club. I’m just not sure I can suspend my disbelief as far as this story asked me to. I fully believe in both lust and love at first sight, so the chemistry between Sienna and Jake was perfect. And I know first hand that those out of control brain chemicals can make otherwise sane people do some things that seem contrary to their usual natures. I’m just not buying that a strong independent woman would hand over the protection of her career to another person this easily. I know that real life is stranger than fiction. There’re just too many outlandish ideas in this story for it to sit comfortably with me. If there had only been a couple, I probably would have just rolled with it and had fun, ‘cause the story itself is fun; the romance is cute and cheeky. However, the plot falls firmly into Red Queens’s “impossible things” to believe in. But despite the heroes admirable love of bacon, I’m not reading this before breakfast, so that just didn’t happen for me. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.

This is an interesting collection of stories. The negatives? The first two books include cheating. Several of them are just to fanciful to relate to what is happening. Daring the Neighbor. I was sympathetic with Sabrina but still… Nathan wasn’t very concerned about her marriage either. Daring His Passion. I just wanted Reed to stand up for himself. Why would anyone remain friends with someone who treated them like Dirk does? Daring Rescue. This is just too unbelievable for me.This one started out pretty good and Becca’s character is so sweet and she has to confess to Cade. I was confused about both characters reactions. Daring Her Captor. Really? The story was just too quirky for me to enjoy it. Daring the Judge. This one started out pretty good but the events were too strange. She didn’t seem to be as strong and assertive as one would expect. Another reviewer did a much better job than I have explaining the flaws in these stories so I’m going to leave mine simple. Did I enjoy reading them? Yes I did. Don’t expect something incredible because these are not but you can enjoy reading them if you don’t. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

About the author

Ann Omasta is a USA Today bestselling author.

Ann’s Top Ten list of likes, dislikes, and oddities:

1.    I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin.

2.    Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida, and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle.

3.    If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon, and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all.

4.    There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return.

5.    Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above.

6.    Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word.

7.    Dorothy was right. There's no place like home.

8.    All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie Sleeping with the Enemy, but I can't seem to control this particular quirk.

9.    I love, love, love finding a great bargain!

10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!
