Shaded Amethysts is the sixth book in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series and is a sweet romance. I enjoyed reading this story about Avery and her small-town love triangle romance. The characters are likable and well depicted. The storyline is engaging and has drama, family, relationships, and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a sweet underdog love story. Standalone with no cliffhangers, but part of a series. The other couples are in this book so if you like small town series I suggest reading them in order. Avery's life has become a hot mess to the extent that she is living back at home with her parents, her best friend is fighting to keep her son, and she if falling in love with the felon Not the veterinary doctor. Gage has had a crappy life, there is no way the people in this small town will ever except him, much less the beautiful and fun Avery. This is a sweet and fun book with mystery and romance, it's the first book in this series that I have read, but I already purchased the first 2 books to read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the sixth book in the series and it is not necessary to read the previous stories, but it does help to follow all the secondary characters. Avery is the last one of her friends who is single. When she meets the new veterinarian she wonders if he could be the one. Then she meets the new-in-town ex con. And then… This is a great ending to the series. Avery is smart and generous. Why is Noah standoffish? Why is Gage afraid to get involved with her? All the characters have their quirks and you might guess at the ending but I only got it half right. I enjoyed reading this and getting to know Avery. Worth reading. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

About the author

Ann Omasta is a USA Today bestselling author.

Ann’s Top Ten list of likes, dislikes, and oddities:

1.     I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin.

2.     Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida, and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle.

3.     If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon, and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all.

4.     There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return.

5.     Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above.

6.     Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word.

7.     Dorothy was right. There's no place like home.

8.     All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie Sleeping with the Enemy, but I can't seem to control this particular quirk.

9.     I love, love, love finding a great bargain!

10.  Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!
