I have read many ofAnne Perry's books and this one is as good as her first, I don't think there is anyone who can beat her at this type of book. The wonderful names of characters place you right back in the victoian times and to create a story from one minor incident again is first class. One day someone will see the lite and make a tv programe from one of her characters. May she go on producing such great stories.

Anne Perry is a New York Times bestselling author noted for her memorable characters, historical accuracy and exploration of social and ethical issues. Her two series, one featuring Thomas Pitt and one featuring William Monk, have been published in multiple languages.
