This book addresses various clinical and sub clinical applications of antioxidant nutraceuticals, with a primary focus on preventive use for general wellness, common ailments, and such chronic illnesses as cancer and neurological applications. This unique book captures the applications of natural antioxidants, which have been used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine as well as modern nutraceuticals formulations. It covers antioxidant applications in clinical scenarios including the historical perspective, basic antioxidant properties and applications, anti-inflammatory properties, and antioxidant applications in a variety of clinical conditions.

Acerca del autor

Dr. Cao is an experienced and independent neuroimmunologist, vaccinologist and dedicated nutraceutical researcher with a tenure-track assistant professor position in the Dept. of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy, University of South Florida (USF). Dr. Cao has been working with the clinical core of the Florida Alzheimer’s Research Center (FADRC, NIH funded center) for more than eight years, and has combined his contemporary immunology and vaccine skills with molecular biology to search for novel biomarkers and therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. He believes that most diseases occur due to changes in the immune system, and that targeting the immune system is a promising solution to diseases.

Sarvadaman Pathak went to University of Houston for undergraduate studies, with a concentration in Biochemistry and Pre-Medicine. Following that he pursued a Doctor of Medicine degree from Avalon University School of Medicine Summa Cum Laude. He was educated partially in Belize, Mexico with all clinical experience in Chicago, IL. After graduating from medical school, he focused on research and worked at the University of South Florida. In 2013 he completed a one-year clinical fellowship in Traditional Chinese Medicine, including Chinese herbalism, with a focus on eastern western integrative medicine at the Dalian Medical University in Dalian, Liaoning province in Mainland China. Currently he works for the Veterans Affairs and University of South Florida, Internal Medicine, and focuses on cancer research and pediatrics research. Sarvadaman has traveled to over 35 countries and has had a fascination with traditional medicines of the world since childhood. Dr. Kiran Patil has trained in both, USA and India, and has lot of interest in Ayurvedic system of medicine, which has been practiced for over 3000 years in India. He is currently working as a Neurologist in Pittsburg, PA, with over 15 years of experience in research and medical practice.
