Gautam Buddha?s teachings have been enshrined in Pali texts, and Pali language is said to have been the lingua Franca of the then masses. Buddha preached his philosophy and teachings in the sort of language, which most of people generally understood, as opposed to Sanskrit, which was a monopoly of only handful of Brahmins. Numerous scholars from India, China, Asia and Western Countries have rendered a Yeomen?s service to humanity by translating the Buddhist scripture into various languages resulting in acceptance and spread of tenents and teachings of Buddhism. Additions, at later time, cannot be ruled out, hence deviation from original texts is a common possibility.
