Aristóteles (384 a.C.- 322 a.C.) fue un filósofo, polímata y científico nacido en la ciudad de Estagira, al norte de la Antigua Grecia. Es considerado junto a Platón, el padre de la filosofía occidental. Sus ideas han ejercido una enorme influencia sobre la historia intelectual de Occidente por más de dos milenios. Aristóteles expuso en su obra Ética a Nicómaco sus reflexiones éticas más relevantes. La obra está dividida en 10 libros, cada uno trata un tema diferente. En ellos expone sus reflexiones sobre el bien, la felicidad, la virtud, la templanza o las virtudes intelectuales, entre otros temas. Ética a Nicómaco es uno de los tratados más importantes que se conservan de la filosofía occidental.
