Grace Goodwin - Ascension 4 (Interstellar Brides: Ascension Saga) This is the 4th book in the Ascensign Saga. It focuses on Faith and Thor. While Trinity and Leo continue to secure the royal line on Alera and look for her mother, the Kidnapped Queen, her sisterFaith (half Aleran, half human) is going undercover as a maid putting herself in danger spying on the Jax family that could possibly be hiding a traitor to her family and the crown. Faith is a warm caring vegetarian woman who can not stand to see anyone or animal in pain and will always rush to help them. Like her sister Trinity, being on Alera begins to awaken her powers. She is stunned when Lady Jax accuses her of being the traitor and calls her son Thor in to deal with her. When Thor sees Faith he is “awakened” and realizes she is his mate. Thor is right there to protect her from those believing that “she “ is the spy, and to see to her Ardor (like going into heat). The two are on fire and their sexual scenes are very very steamy. Danger, intrigue, mystery, suspense and excitement follow this novella as the plot thickens and the storyline begins to reveal more answers to the conspiracy and who is the real enemy to Queen Celine and her three daughters. Left with another heart pounding cliffhanger readers will immediately dive into Book 5.

Well color me surprised! Faith ended up being kind of bad ass. My impression of her from the interactions in the previous appearances in Trinity’s set of 3 books is changed. I thought out the 3 sisters she was the meek and mild one. I love how she was willing to sacrifice her safety to protect her family. I also loved how Thordis (Thor) defies his family to protect her. Like a modern day Romeo & Juliet except in space, with Aliens and that pesky Aleran Ardor that drives the females wild for constant nookie. All I’m going to say is Faith’s awakened Thor and he’s all about giving her what she needs, over and over and over....He’s sexy, possessive (in all the good ways), protective and name is Thor, that alone should cover it. lol Anxious to see where their relationship goes from here with everyone’s belief he is a traitor and involved with the kidnapping of her mother Queen Celene! What makes it even worse is her beloved sister Trinity and her uber sex-on-a-stick mate Leo actually believing this insanity and enforce his arrest. Poor Thor is drug our of their naked and headed for the dungeon! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Faith's Story Begins: This book starts off the second segment of this series which will focus on Princess Faith and Thor’s story (Vol 2: Books 4-6). Queen Celene was being moved once again by her mercenary captors. It had been their intention to eliminate the queen’s entire family bloodline. Instead, due to the wits of her strong daughters -- Trinity, Faith and Destiny -- they had not been able to carry out their evil plot. At every turn, they were thwarted by the princesses who were now on Alera and searching for their mother as the citadel’s four spires continued to light the sky proving the entire royal family still lived. The traitors sought the royal jewels, a powerful symbol of sovereignty recognized by the people, but the jewels would not sing to the unworthy wearer nor to one without royal blood. It was now up to Celene’s daughters to defend the planet, and the citadel would help them. Faith was currently working as a servant in the Jax household, a wealthy and high-ranking family. The sisters are still looking to identify the traitor who tried to kill them as they arrived on Alera to look for their mother. Every chance she got, Faith searched the rooms, read correspondence, or listened in secret to conversations to find clues, but she had made no progress. Then one day, when Lady Jax had finally left her room, Faith was able to search it. On the floor under a locked desk, she had just found the key when she was discovered by Lady Jax. Thinking Faith was the one leaking information to their enemies, Lord and Lady Jax sent guards to notify both the police and Thordis Jax, their son. As soon as Thor sees her, he recognizes that Faith is his mate! She was taken to Lord Wyse at the police station for questioning. When she wouldn’t talk, they decided to take her to Optimus cell level C where, by whatever means they chose to use, they would force answers from her. Thor went to his apartment, but he was going crazy thinking about Faith’s fate. He just could not imagine her giving orders to Zel to kill the princess as he had tried to do. He knew what the ruthless Optimus unit would do to her! He stops Lord Wyse in the hallway and by claiming her as his mate and refusing to press charges, he saves her from their brutal interrogation. But can he keep her safe? And will he continue to protect her if he finds out who she truly is? This installment of the Ascension Saga, part of the “Interstellar Brides” universe, is well written and full of excitement. The suspense and tension continues as the story switches to Faith’s part of the search as the sisters try to find and rescue their mother, the kidnapped Queen Celene Herakles. Along the way, Faith and Thor discover their destiny. The story line continues to enthrall the reader as the adventure moves on with the 3 books in Volume 2 involving Princess Faith. Keep reading this exciting tale as the battle lines are drawn and the danger is ever-increasing to a fever pitch.
